Studio Publication Series is a new collection of zine-like booklets that invites TBG+S Studio Artists to present and publish research materials and experimental imagery. The sketchbook-like approach draws together thoughts, ideas and a variety of processes of individual artistic practices that are not usually visible outside of the artists’ studio.
Aleana Egan’s booklet free ideas about the sea, takes its title from Egan’s sculptural assemblage from the TBG+S exhibition, staring forms, in 2019. The publication gathers examples of collages of materials and imagery that has informed sculpture and installations, as well as some watercolour paintings made during the lockdown period outside of a typical studio environment in Spring 2020.
