These books are based on quilting pattern blocks that are made up of nine equal squares. The traditional patterns depicted are Old Maid’s Puzzle, Ribbon Quilt, Darting Birds, Split Nine Patch and Bear Tracks. Each one is shown in its positive and negative forms. The book is a result of my interest in the democratic nature of pattern books.
