Some Time Later, is the product of a collaborative exchange between the artist Brendan Earley and two writers, Pádraic E Moore, Chris Fite-Wassilak and a designer Robin Watkins. The collaboration framed a space which allowed for exchange and a particular kind of reflection necessary for these times. Earley’s new and existing artwork, along with contextual photography is the pivot, which the writers were asked to respond to, in an essay form which opened out to broader questions on creativity- is being unproductive part of being productive? This is a subject with endless possibilities for both poetic reflection and insightful articulation and ultimately presents a lens, in the form of this book, into the collective stasis and what this means for artistic creativity, at this time that has impacted on the entire world.
Brendan Earley lives and works in Wicklow. After graduating from NCAD with first class honours spent number of years travelling before receiving the Fulbright scholarship to attend Hunter College, New York City. Graduated with a master’s in fine art in 1999 and returned to Dublin where he exhibits regularly. He was awarded his PhD in 2010 from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin.
