To mark the run of the exhibition Did I say I miss you? by Jorge Satorre, we are offering all titles relating to the artist at a discounted price.
In 2019, Jorge Satorre was commissioned to produce a project in ElicaMex, an Italian kitchen hoods factory located in Querétaro, México. The starting point of the project was constituted by a group of pieces of obsolete machinery that had been abandoned due to improvements in the production process. Satorre drew a selection of these pieces in detail, using the apparent technical precision of the cavalier projection. These nineteen drawings were later used to produce a series of engravings on scrap-metal plates from the factory.
This book contains reproductions of the nineteen engravings, as well as photographs documenting the interior of the plant, where Satorre installed a series of sculptures which, replicating functional elements from the factory, try to camouflage themselves within the industrial setting. A text by Francesco Pedraglio and Marcello Smarrelli contextualizes the project and concludes this publication.
