Temple Bar Gallery + Studios is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy when visiting our website, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

Temple Bar Gallery + Studios (TBG+S) does not collect personal information about you when you visit our website unless you volunteer this when signing up to our mailing list, purchasing from our shop, booking a ticket for an event, applying to an opportunity, making a donation or becoming a Supporters Club member. This policy covers how TBG+S uses personal information that is collected when you use the TBG+S website.

INFORMATION AND USES

We collect personal data from users of our website when you voluntarily provide such information. The personal data we collect includes, but is not limited to, your name and email address. Your personal information is only used for the purpose you have requested and is not transferred or given out for any other use.

We will collect personal information if you:

  • Sign up to our mailing list: We use Create-Send as our GDPR compliant email marketing platform to send subscribers information and updates on our organisation and its activities. Create-Send is owned by Campaign Monitor, which has its own security and privacy policy which can be read online here. Data is maintained within a database hosted by Create-Send and will be retained for as long as you choose to remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by using the ‘Unsubscribe link’ at the bottom of every email. Please note that in order to honour your request and ensure that you do not receive information from us, your email address is retained within Create-Send on a ‘suppression’ list.
  • Purchasing from our shop: This data is securely processed by Shopify. You can read more about how Shopify uses your Personal Information here {https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy}
  • Book a ticket for an event: This data is securely processed by Eventbrite. You can read their Privacy Policy on their website. We may contact you via Eventbrite regarding your booking.
  • Apply to an opportunity: All information submitted to TBG+S will be held in the strictest confidence in line with GDPR guidelines and data will only be used in the context of evaluating submissions to the opportunity e.g. studio residencies, international residencies, open call for books, etc. By submitting an application you authorise TBG+S to contact you directly in relation to the specific opportunity.
  • Making a donation or become a Supporters Club member: For donations and membership processing, we use PayPal as an approved, secure GDPR compliant processor in accordance with their Privacy Policy.
  • Cookies: Cookies are small text files which are placed on your computer or device as you navigate a website. We use cookies on this website to improve functionality and ease navigation for users through the site. We also use cookies to monitor the way the website is used and to assess what content is of most interest to our users.
  • When you first visit our website you will see a message informing you about cookies. If you click the ‘Accept’ button, a cookie will be set that records your preference. You may opt to view the site without cookies by adjusting your browser's settings. If you do disable cookies some functions of the site may no longer work correctly. The information stored in a cookie may relate to your browsing activities on the website, or may be a ‘compliance cookie’ which allows us to know whether or not you have previously been informed and given consent to the use of cookies on the website.
      • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics cookies to tell us about levels of activity on our website, for example which pages on the site are used more frequently. This information informs us about what content is of most interest to our readers and helps us to make future improvements to our website. Any of the data gathered using Google Analytics cookies is anonymised. The data is stored within Google Analytics for a period of 14 months, after which time it is deleted.       • Third Party Cookies: We sometimes use third-party tools and services on our website to enable us to embed media, such as video and audio files, into website pages. To embed video, we use tools from YouTube or Vimeo and to share audio recordings we use services such as SoundCloud. These tools often include cookies from the relevant third-party owner. TBG+S is not the Data Controller for the information gathered via these cookies, and has no access to the information. We will ensure that all personal information supplied is held securely, in accordance with the requirements of the relevant Irish legislation, namely the Irish Data Protection Act (1988), and the Irish Data Protection (Amendment) Act (2003).

YOUR RIGHTS

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

 

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfil contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States as that is where our website platform Shopify is based.

 

DATA RETENTION

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

 

ACCESS TO INFORMATION

Any formal, written request by a Data Subject for a copy of their personal data (a Subject Access Request) will be referred, as soon as possible, to the Data Protection Officer, and will be processed as soon as possible.
